Monster Island is The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster. Strangely, it was released around the time of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The movie is about Monster Island, an island where a monster may exist; the monster, if your will, is Monster Island.


Because this film is about an asylum, the budget was comparable to a large children's meal. The film uses it lightly and focuses on few human characters. All of the major stars are filmed in one location during lunch. The Asylum may not perform as well because it is a kaiju (published here) movie.
